STAMFORD, CT, December 07, 2007: Gen Re LifeHealth has released
the results of the 2007 Critical Illness Insurance Market Survey to
participating companies. This survey, which is conducted in conjunction with
the National Association of Critical Illness Insurers (NACII), is the leading
benchmarking survey for the Critical Illness Insurance (CII) market in the
Unites States. Responses covered 38 companies currently writing CII and
represented an estimated market share of 75-80%.
The survey reports on a number of important areas such as sales, risk
management, product, and experience questions. Ten additional responses were
from companies actively looking at product development. Some of the most
promising figures from this survey are a 16% increase in in-force
policies/certificates and a 20% increase in in-force premium over those
reported in the 2006 survey.
